Carbide Knife Systems
This two piece knife system consists of a solid piece of micrograin carbide that locks into a high-speed steel backer plate. The backer plate supports the carbide and is ground with the same profile. The backer is a one-time purchase. The carbide indexes up the backer plate as it is resharpened. These specialty knives are designed for use in man made products such as MDF.
Carbide Inlay Knives
Carbide inlay knives provide longer run time than HSS because the carbide composition of the inlay is harder and stronger producing a longer lasting cutting edge. Recommended for use on highly abrasive woods and man made materials. Ideal woodworking knives for some tough applications.
